Background removal is the most frequently used photo manipulation technique in post processing tasks. Using this technique, photo editors get able to eliminate unnecessary and unwanted items and objects from photos to make them more attractive and outstanding.

The background is removed by computing a set of representative values (e.g., median values) based on component values of pixels within a portion of interest of the captured image.

The Background Eraser Tool is especially useful with photos that contain lots of fine detail along the edges between your subject and its background.
